From Field to Studio

Boots-in-the-Mud Observation

My process begins with patience in the field. Hours spent observing native British fauna on the Devon coastline and Dartmoor, capturing fleeting moments through detailed field notes and authentic 35mm photography. This direct encounter forms the soul of every canvas.

Back in the Devon studio, these observations translate into original oil glazes. Using traditional wet-on-wet painting techniques on linen, I build rich textures and depth, ensuring each stroke embodies the raw beauty of the wild.
